2018 Meeting of LASER at the Latin American Library

The Latin American Library hosted a 2-day meeting of the Latin American Studies Southeast Regional Libraries (LASER) consortium. LASER is a SALALM (Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials) affiinity group. LASER promotes cooperation among affiliated institutions to support our university and library missions in building the region’s strength in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Current member institutions of LASER include: Duke University; Emory University; Florida International University; Tulane University; University of Florida; University of Georgia; University of Miami; University of North Caroline at Chapel Hill; University of Texas at Austin; and Vanderbilt University.
Attendees spent two days discussing various collaborative projects and ended the visit with a visit to the studio of New Orleans artist and photographer, Josephine Sacabo.
