During the summer of 1975 and the academic year 1976-1977, Donald
Robertson, Tulane Professor of Latin American Art History, conducted
seminars sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Teachers
from small colleges with limited research facilities were chosen to
attend. The areas of study covered pre-Columbian art and the art of and
architecture of colonial Latin America, especially that of Mexico. The
papers in this collection were written as part of the requirements for
these courses. No grades were recorded. Additional information on these
seminars on these seminars is found in the Robertson Collection.
