COLLECTION GUIDE

The eleventh annual Model OAS (Organization of American States) General Assembly -- Universities was held April 2 - 6, 1990, in Washington, D.C. Students from Tulane University participated as representatives of Argentina and upon their return donated the papers they had accumulated to the Latin American Library. There are three principal types of papers: those describing the Model program itself, those concerned with the OAS as a whole, and those related to specific issues brought before the OAS in past years. Unless otherwise noted, texts are in English.

Folder 1 Papers on the Model program

1. Rules of procedure for the Model OAS General Assembly as of July 15, 1988. 14 pages.

2. List of the OAS countries and the university or college which represents them in the Model OAS. 1990. 4 pages.

3. The speeches and general statements delivered by the various representatives, with a table of contents. The spokesman for the Tulane University delegation, representing Argentina, was Michael Webber. His speech with added marginal notes is on page 7 - 8. 1990. 48 pages.

Folder 2 Papers on the OAS

1. Note from the permanent representative of Uruguay on the legal headquarters of the OAS. August 25, 1988. 2 leaves.
